President/CEO
Devon Hyde serves as President and CEO of Lake Charles Memorial Health System. He assumed the role on April 12, 2021, and is the fifth CEO of Memorial since opening in 1952.
Mr. Hyde came to Memorial with 15 years of executive healthcare management experience having led both for-profit and not-for-profit hospitals and medical centers throughout the United States. He served as the CEO of Presbyterian Hospital, the largest acute care hospital in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Prior to that, he was the CEO at AllianceHealth Deaconess in Oklahoma City, and the Chief Operating Officer at Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa and Valley Hospital Medical Center in Las Vegas, respectively.
Mr. Hyde has a degree in business administration from the University of Oklahoma and a Master of Business Administration from Oklahoma City University. He is a member of, American College of Healthcare Executives and the Institute of Healthcare Executives and Suppliers.
Chief Medical Officer
Dr. Brown serves as the Chief Medical Officer for Lake Charles Memorial Health System. Dr. Brown received his medical degree from Louisiana State University Medical Center—Shreveport in Shreveport, LA, where he also spent his residency training in general surgery. While still in Shreveport, he completed a fellowship in colon and rectal surgery and is board certified in Colon and Rectal Surgery by the American Board of Surgery. He most recently earned a Master of Healthcare Administration from Louisiana State University—Shreveport.
After relocating to New Mexico, Dr. Brown spent 14 years in private practice, until he joined Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM where he practiced and held the positions of Medical Director of Perioperative Services, Program Medical Director-Surgery/Medical Director Perioperative Services, and most recently, Chief Medical Officer and Vice President of Medical Staff Affairs.
As Chief Medical Officer of Memorial Health System, he is instrumental in aligning clinical best practices across all affiliated hospitals, clinics and physician practices and responsible for decisions relating to clinical quality assurance. He also works closely with system administrators to develop and assess quality metrics used to strategically drive excellence in the delivery of health care at Memorial and assist in the continued pursuit of building a strong, cohesive medical team and a better patient experience.
Executive Vice President of Nursing/CNO/COO
Gerald Bryant serves as Executive Vice President, Chief Nursing Officer and Chief Operating Officer for Memorial. He previously served as Vice President of Patient Care Services at Memorial in the early 2000s.
He received his Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Louisiana Monroe. His post-graduate training includes a Masters of Science in Nursing from McNeese State University and a Doctorate of Nursing from Texas Tech Health Science Center.
Bryant has more than 15 years of operational and clinical senior executive leadership experience. Before returning to Memorial in 2019, he served as the Chief Nursing Officer for Baylor Scott & White Medical Center and Clinics in Temple, TX. He was named the Texas Hospital Association/Texas Organization Nurse Executive of the Year in 2019. Bryant is a board certified nurse executives and a member of American College of Healthcare Executive and American Organization of Nurse Executives.
Chief Financial Officer
Dawn Johnson serves as the Chief Financial Officer for Memorial. She comes to Memorial with more than 25 years of healthcare financial experience.
Prior to joining Memorial, Ms. Johnson served as the Chief Financial Officer for CHRISTUS Lake Area Hospital. She has also served as the Assistant Chief Financial Officer and Financial Security Officer for Northwest Medical Center Oro Valley and Assistant Chief Financial Officer of El Dorado Hospital both located in Tucson, Arizona. She holds a degree in Business Administration and a Masters in Business Administration, both from the University of Phoenix in Tucson.
Chief Information Officer
Steven Stanic serves as the Chief Information Officer for the Memorial Health System where he develops and leads the technology efforts, strategic objectives and tactical execution of implementing best-in-class innovative technology solutions.
Steven came to Memorial in 2021 with over 30 years of successful experience in implementing technology to leverage performance improvement throughout healthcare organizations. For the past eleven years he has served as Vice President and Chief Information Officer with Mississippi Baptist Health System in Jackson Mississippi, and prior to that served as VP/CIO for the Juran Institute based in Southington, Connecticut. He was the National Director of Perot Systems in Plano, Texas, where he was responsible for clinical implementations of over 100 hospitals; and also served as VP/CIO for Memorial Health System in Savannah, Georgia.
Steven was educated at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio where he earned both an undergraduate degree in Management and a Masters of Business Administration degree. He is an active member of the College of Healthcare Information Management Executives (CHIME) and a Senior Member of the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society (HIMSS). Steven is a Six Sigma Black Belt Certified and also a frequent presenter at both HIMSS and CHIME functions. He has been an instructor in various Management Information Systems courses at Youngstown State University in Youngstown, Ohio and at Armstrong Atlantic University in Savannah, Georgia.
Chief Strategy Officer
Jason Rashall has served LCMHS since 2013. Over the past few years his strategic efforts and vision have been instrumental in producing substantial new business growth for LCMHS, and strengthening / connecting provider affiliations across southwest Louisiana. As Chief Strategy Officer for the region's largest community healthcare system, Rashall oversees various business development, payer contracting strategies, and other initiatives to better align healthcare services and patient accessibility for the southwest Louisiana community.
Mr. Rashall is a native of Lake Charles and a 1993 graduate of McNeese State University. He also achieved a Masters of Business Administration (MBA) from Louisiana State University in 1997.
Prior to joining Memorial, Mr. Rashall served as Vice President of Physician Alignment for CHRISTUS St. Patrick Medical Group in Lake Charles. He was also the Vice President of Operations at Medical Provider Services, Inc. in Lake Charles and Regional Director of Managed Care for IASIS Healthcare Corporation’s Texas region. Mr. Rashall has worked in the medical field since 1997.
Vice President/Memorial for Women Administrator
In her role as Administrator, Mrs. Brown is responsible for strategic planning and day to day operations at Lake Charles Memorial for Women.
Mrs. Brown joined Memorial in 1990 as a clinical dietician. During her tenure she has also served as Vice President of Support Services, Director of Nutritional Services, Assistant Vice President of Business Development and Administrator of Moss Memorial Health Clinic.
A graduate of Louisiana Tech University in Ruston, LA with a Bachelor of Science in Dietetics and Nutrition, and McNeese State University in Lake Charles with a Masters in Business Administration, Ms. Loyd is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Vice President of Human Resources
Shana Scales joined the Memorial team in early 2023 and serves as Vice President of Human Resources. She has over 15 years of progressive human resource leadership and management experience.
Prior to joining Memorial Mrs. Scales served as the Head of Total Rewards/Shared Services for the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences and as the Director of Compensation-HRIS at Regional One Health. She has held various key human resource roles at Baptist Memorial Health System in Memphis, Tennessee, respectively.
Scales holds a Bachelor of Science in Finance from the University of Arkansas at Pine Bluff and has earned dual Master degrees in Human Resources Management and Business Administration, both from Webster University in St. Louis, MO.
Assistant Administrator
In this role, Michael assists in operational leadership of several key departments and projects.
Born and raised here in SWLA, the Sulphur native graduated from McNeese State University with a Bachelor of Science in Clinical Laboratory Science. Working in the laboratory as a generalist, departmental supervisor, and as a director, Michael’s passion for leadership and improving his community’s healthcare inspired him to further his education. While remaining an American Society of Clinical Pathologists and LSBME certified clinical laboratory scientist, Michael also achieved his Master’s Degree in Healthcare Administration from LSU Shreveport. He is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
Executive Director, Philanthropy
Sol Halliburton is responsible for the overall strategy, growth, and sustainability of The Foundation at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital which includes major donor and key stakeholder relationships, corporate partnerships, and program development. The Foundation at LCMH supports the health system’s mission through the advancement of patient support programs, services, and state-of-the-art technology. She oversees the Foundation, Gift Shop, and Volunteer Services Departments.
Sol brings more than 30 years of global experience in non-profit, health care, hospitality, and online retail industries, as well as an extensive background in fundraising. Mrs. Halliburton’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science in Commerce, a major in Management with Management Information Systems from Assumption College in San Lorenzo Makati City, Philippines, a Special Events Management course at the NYU School of Continuing Professional Studies, and a certification in fundraising. She is one of 7,600 fundraising professionals from over 25 countries who are currently Certified Fund-Raising Executives (CFRE). The CFRE is the only accredited, globally recognized certification for fundraising professionals.
She currently serves on the Board of the Rotary Club of Lake Charles, the Programs and Personnel Committee of the Family & Youth Counseling Agency, and the Advisory Board of the International Club of SWLA.
Executive System Director of Marketing and Communications
Lisa Guerrero serves as the System Director of Marketing. Lisa joined the Memorial team in 2019, bringing with her close to 20 years of experience in healthcare marketing.
Since arriving in Lake Charles in 2012, she has held the positions of Director of Marketing & Public Relations for CHRISTUS Lake Area Hospital and Marketing Manager for Women & Children’s Hospital. Prior to this Lisa served as the Director of Marketing & Product Line Development and as an Occupational Health Specialist both at Moberly Regional Medical Center in Moberly, Missouri. She holds a degree in Health & Wellness Promotions from the University of Missouri in Columbia. She is a member of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
