This week, The Foundation and LCMHS Administration joined the Auxiliary to celebrate the volunteers and honor their years of service.
Established in 1968, the mission of the Auxiliary is to render service to Lake Charles Memorial Health System and its patients by assisting the hospital in promoting the health and welfare of the community in accordance with the objectives established by the hospitals.
Volunteers are a valuable resource to our hospitals, providing intangible and tangible services that are difficult to put a price tag on. Some of the ways they assist the hospitals is by:
- Visiting with patients and families
- Delivering reading materials to rooms
- Staffing the front lobby information desk
- Servicing waiting rooms such as surgery and ICU
- Managing the gift shops
- Working behind the scenes to support every department
