What we do is sacred work - grounded in love and intention for the other
person. - Gerald Bryant, Executive Vice President of Nursing, CNO/COO
LCMHS is committed to continuous improvements and excellence in patient
care. Here’s a few ways we demonstrate our commitment to excellence
through nursing opportunities:
Evidence-Based Nurse Staff
We believe nurse staffing should reflect the national recommendations for
a specialty, nursing experience, nursing skill mix and patient acuity/activity.
Experience Memorial
“Experience Memorial” is more than just a recruitment slogan.
It’s a value demonstrated through the care we provide for our patients
and our commitment to the community that begins and ends with engaged
employees. Through encouraged employee feedback, Memorial has established
a benefits package that reflects what is needed for you to take care of
your family. From volunteerism, reduced co-pays, childcare benefits, and
even pet insurance, the Memorial benefits package has something for everyone.

you are an experienced nurse, we will work to find the schedule that fits
your needs and life.
Healthy Workforce and Wellness Programs
Memorial recognizes that part of our mission is to create a workplace that
offers professional growth and opportunity. Our ongoing wellness initiatives
work towards creating an environment that fosters respect, dignity, and
diversity. Read more about this in our annual report below.
Internships/Fellowships
In addition to the residency program, internships are designed to help
new nurses enter the field. Fellowships are designed for experienced nurses
who are changing specialties.
New Grad Residency Program
A one year “transition to practice” evidence-based program
is designed to support the novice nurse to reach the highest level of
the profession with a curriculum focused on quality, safety, communication,
self-care and mindfulness.
Nursing Safety
Memorial believes that violence is not a part of the job. Recently, Memorial
has increased its
violence prevention measures throughout the health system, improved reporting measures and a culture
that supports and encourages nursing staff to report violence and communicates
to the public that violence against healthcare staff is not tolerated.
Shared Governance
The organization-wide council infrastructure guarantees that nursing leaders
have a true voice in nursing practices and operations. Our philosophy
is to make sure we have the right bedside leaders at the table to help
make decisions. Read more about this in our Annual Report below.
