Through a partnership with LSU Health Science Center, our family medicine residency combines an excellent learning environment with the academic resources of LSUHSC New Orleans and the clinical resources of southwest Louisiana’s largest community-owned health system, exposing residents to a variety of patient needs.
The RN Nursing Extern Program at Memorial offers junior and senior level nursing students a chance to prepare themselves for a smoother transition into the professional hospital environment under the guidance of an experienced RN. This program allows externs to perform certain skills needed for their career, while exploring a variety of nursing fields to identify which medical specialty makes the best career fit for them.
The School of Medical Technology is housed within the Pathology Department of Memorial, giving students the opportunity to learn under the guidance of skilled pathologists and clinical directors with a large and innovative laboratory space. The 12-month program culminates with a certification and 40 hours for clinical rotations, where applicable.
