Meet Kenneth Leger, MD
Dr. Leger is a board-certified internist and pediatrician at Memorial’s Iowa Health Clinic in Iowa, Louisiana. A primary care physician is often the first medical professional you see when you're sick. They are specifically trained to act as personal doctors, providing long-term, comprehensive care. Internists see adult patients diagnosing and treating a variety of issues – from cold and flu to managing chronic diseases, like hypertension and diabetes. Primary care physicians, like Dr. Leger, are also the access point to specialty care, like cardiology, orthopedics, and surgical services. Originally from Welsh, Dr. Leger is a Magna cum Laude graduate from McNeese State University earning a bachelor’s degree in biology. He then began his medical training at the Louisiana Health Sciences Center in Shreveport, Louisiana. Dr. Leger continued with his post-graduate medical training with a pediatrics and internal medicine residency at Louisiana State University Health Science Center in Shreveport, Louisiana.
He is a member of the American Board of Internal Medicine, American College of Physicians, American Academy of Pediatrics, American Medical Association, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association.
Dr. Leger also serves as medical director to Memorial's three rural clinics - The Cameron Health Unit, The Clinic of Welsh, and the Iowa Health Clinic.
