Meet Peter Karam, MD
Dr. Peter Karam is a hospitalist at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital who treats and cares for patients who are admitted into the hospital. Dr. Karam is an alumnus of McNeese State University where he earned a bachelor’s degree in science. He began his medical training with a medical degree from Louisiana State University School of Medicine. He continued his post-graduate training with an internal medicine internship and residency at Louisiana State University School of Medicine at Charity Hospital in New Orleans, where he served as chief resident.
Dr. Karam has been providing care to patients for over 20 years, serving as a provider and medical director in various healthcare settings including hospitalist, inpatient rehabilitation, long term acute care, skilled nursing facilities, and psychiatric inpatient services. Dr. Karam was awarded Memorial’s Golden Stethoscope Award in 2024 citing his consistent clinical skills and commitment to delivering compassionate care to all his patients.
