Gifts to the Alan LeBato LSU Residency Fund support the Memorial/LSUHSC Family Medicine Residency Program by assisting residents with educational needs, professional development opportunities, curriculum enhancements, technology, and champions learning and academic excellence for our physicians-in-training.
Supporters of the Residency Fund are members of the Residency Alumni Society. Members of the society provide vital funding that the Program Director can use to help propel the mission and vision of the program forward. Your gift, combined with the gift of other loyal alumni, will make a direct impact to continuing to provide caring, well-trained Family Medicine physicians to southwest Louisiana.
Currently, the Family Medicine Residency Program would like to purchase five Butterfly Ultrasound devices at $2,500 per device. The Butterfly iQ+ is a handheld, single-probe complete body ultrasound device.
The Point of Care Ultrasound (POCUS) will allow residents a vital educational component in their training. Throughout a physician's career, devices like these will be used to provide the best care for patients – both here in our community and everywhere they practice in the future.
These handheld ultrasounds enable us to quickly gather real-time information at the bedside. This enhances the educational experience of our residents and, hopefully, allows for better patient care. - Dr. Danette Null, Family Medicine Residency Program Director
