Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for Women is leading the charge in women’s healthcare and is the premier choice birthing facility in southwest Louisiana. Our specialized clinical team combines comprehensive inpatient and outpatient services geared towards women, including pregnancy, childbirth, gynecology, neonatal intensive care, general surgery, prenatal and breast cancer genetics education/testing and breast health. Additionally, the most advanced diagnostics include digital mammography, laboratory testing, radiology, CT, bone density scanning and ultrasound.
Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for Women also has the most advanced Level III neonatal intensive care unit in southwest Louisiana. Because we know that high-risk newborns need their parents as much as they need the care that our dedicated team of neonatal specialists provides, parents have access to their infant and are included in decisions about his or her care while your infant is nurtured in our NICU.
Our premier women’s health facility is supported by The Foundation’s Women and Children’s Fund. The fund supports the Women's Campus initiatives, NICU, and pediatric programs & projects.
Partnership with community supporters has a real-world impact in our community. Bringing home a newborn can be a stressful and life-changing event, especially for families experiencing financial hardship or limited resources.
These single working mothers were able to receive some of the expensive "must-have" baby items, relieving some financial stress before leaving the hospital. With one less thing to worry about, these mothers were able to focus on their new bundles of joy. These partnerships allow families to truly enjoy the experience of having a new child. In the words of one recipient, "angels still exist".
Recent projects include the NicView “livestream” cameras, and aMaternal/Fetal Simulation Lab for advanced NICU and Family Birth Center nurse training. Ongoing assistance is provided in the areas of rooming-in-rooms for out-of-town families, “Baby Goes Home” packages and gas cards for patients in need.
The Foundation’s Margarita Mix Off is a fundraising event that exclusively supports the Women and Children’s Fund. To learn more about the event or how you can support this cause, click here.
