Located in the Medical Office Building I (MOB I) at Lake Charles Memorial Hospital on Oak Park Blvd. Lake Charles Memorial Internal Medicine offers primary and wellness care for adults. Internal Medicine is a full spectrum of care offering treatment to complicated medical problems, as well as prevention, diagnosis, and treatment of chronic diseases.
The difference between internal medicine and general practice or family practice is that internal medicine typically treats adults in the prevention, diagnosis and management of disease and chronic conditions, like high blood pressure, diabetes, high cholesterol, asthma, and respiratory issues.
Your internal and primary care physicians are the best ally you can have when it comes to tracking your medical history, wellness check, cancer screenings, and a resource when you are feeling sick with the flu or respiratory infection. An internal or primary care physician is also the access point to other specialty referrals like orthopedic, cardiology, or behavioral health.
The Internal Medicine Clinic at Oak Park is located in MOB I, within the Atrium. Patients can use one of the many parking areas available, but the most convenient is in the hospital’s parking garage. From that point, the Internal Clinic can be accessed by passing through the automatic doors next to the parking garage. The clinic is located across from Café' Bon Vie.
For convivence, patients can have their prescriptions filled at the Medical Plaza Pharmacy, located on the first floor of Medical Office Building II (MOB II) and to the right of the automatic doors. A draw station lab is also located on the first floor and left of main doors of MOB II.
