Patients & Visitors Visitor Center

Partnering with Our Community in Compassionate Care

If your loved one is unwell or injured, we know how much you want to be with them. Our Visitor Center at Lake Charles Memorial Health System is designed to accommodate visitors to our valued patients.

Things to Keep in Mind When Planning Your Visit

Our goal is to prioritize flexibility in our visiting hours so that you can spend as much time as possible with your loved ones. At the same time, it is important to recognize that our accommodation for visitors must be balanced with quality healthcare services. We appreciate your continued cooperation as we strive to serve our patients with the utmost care and excellence.

When visiting a patient at Memorial:

  • From the hours of 7 pm to 5 am, please be advised that you will need to use the emergency entrance at the back of the Oak Park campus, as our regular entrances will be closed.
  • Lake Charles Memorial Hospital for Women recognizes “Quiet Time” from 1:00 pm – 3:00 pm in the Labor, Delivery, Recovery and Postpartum Unit. During these two hours, we ask visitors to limit their visit and respectfully reduce their noise levels to allow moms the opportunity to rest.
  • Let the attendant know which unit you will be visiting, and check to make sure that you are aware of all restrictions that might be associated with that unit.
  • Please visit the reception desk near the entrance of the hospital.

Visitor Guidelines

In the interests of our patients, we ask visitors to please observe the following guidelines:

  • Dress - We ask visitors to avoid inappropriate dress. This includes always wearing shoes and shirts.
  • Health - Do NOT visit the hospital if you are suffering from a cold, fever, flu, contagious illness, or sore throat.
  • Noise - Please be respectful of neighboring patients by keeping noise levels down.
  • Smoking - We maintain a strict "no smoking" policy inside the hospital. Lake Charles Memorial Health System is a completely smoke and tobacco free campus.
  • Testing / treatments - Be advised that you may be asked to leave the patient's room if a test or treatment is taking place or if a nurse or doctor is seeing the patient.
